Dirt Quake V

Dirt Quake V is go. As part of its co-sponsorship of Dirt Quake V, Harley-Davidson UK & Ireland is fielding competitors at the increasingly popular two-day racing event this weekend.

There will be two official H-D UK & Ireland Street 750s taking part. One will be raced by weekly motorcycling newspaper MotorCycle News in the Hooligan event run by the Dirt Track Riders Association on Friday 15th. The other Street 750 will be ridden by former U.S.A Speedway Team rider Ronnie Dean Correy, aka “Rocket Ronnie”.

In addition, Harley-Davidson will be fully represented via a dedicated racing class for H-D bikes of any capacity. Visitors to previous Dirt Quake events have witnessed some spectacular Harley-Davidson race action across several classes, including Chopper, Inappropriate Road Bike, Street Tracker/Street Scrambler, and Lady.

This year, visitors will also be able to get up close to an original – and still king of dirt track racing – the honourable XR-750; a Harley-Davidson that has won more races than any other model of motorcycle.

Another special Harley-Davidson machine to be viewed and taking part in the racing action at Dirt Quake V is the Shaw Speed & Custom’s Mert Lawwill Replica, a Dark Custom build based on a Forty-Eight™ from the Sportster® family of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Now in its fifth year, Dirt Quake is a race event where differing classes of motorcycles compete on a closed shale circuit. The one common connection between all the bikes is they should be of MOT standard. Dirt Quake V, presented by Sideburn magazine, takes place at the Adrian Flux Arena, Kings Lynn, 15-16th July. The arena can boast a quality shale track that hosts the Speedway World Cup races and is fully insured, manned by professional medical staff and officiated by the Dirt Track Riders Association and the Motorcycle Federation

After the DTRA racing on Friday night there is chance to see the Ken Fox Wall of Death and listen to a live band. Family activities will also be taking place. On Saturday 16th, lots of non-racing fun will take place on track, plus live music during the day and at night.
