New Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Revealed

Introducing the all new Harley-Davidson® RoadsterTM

It was just a few months ago that Harley-Davidson announced the all new Low Rider S and CVO Pro Street Breakout. Two awesome additions to the H-D family. Both motorcycles have received an amazing reception from our customers. To keep the momentum going we're extremely delighted to announce another new Harley-Davidson motorcycle for the line-up.

At 18:00 GMT on Monday 18th April 2016 Harley-Davidson revealed an incredible new bike which compliments the Sportster family. This all new RoadsterTM is shaped from 57 years of Sportster® Heritage giving riders a feel for the road like nothing before. It combines modern handling performance with styling rooted in the lines of classic Sportster motorcycles.

The all-new Roadster. It appeals to riders hungry for a Sportster that’s powerful, agile and has a style all its own.

Here's what the H-D Design Team have said:

It’s a rider’s bike. It’s something you can really ride aggressively. What I love about the Roadster is to me, visually when I look at it; it connects back to the 56 KHR. So I’ll know that has moved the motorcycle forward and it’s very much a modern interpretation of that. If you kind of blur your eyes a little bit you can still see, you know, that motorcycle, a 56 KHR.

Earliest stages of the project when we’re trying to figure out what we want the bike to be, we’ll start with a mood board. Ben presents a sketch and sometimes there will still be graphical elements in there and we’ll discuss those, kind of like, what this idea this theme is. And we ended up with this sort of timeless racing stripe design that fits the ethos of the bike. Roadster has a unique stance. We used the taller suspension in back and lowered it a little in the front so it pivots the motorcycle. The seat is unique to Roadster. It helps give it sort of the fast back profile of the bike.

Having a low handle bar that proportion really exemplifies the peanut tank which is a classic piece of Sportster DNA. The wheel is one of my favorite parts of the bike. Its 2-split, 5-spoke wheels laced together with spokes that cross over to the opposite side of the rim. A lot more lean angle which really allows you to toss it around in the corners. What the Roadster will give its rider is a direct connection to the road.

Here's what you can expect:

  • 43mm inverted front forks with cartridge damping
  • Massive new triple clamps
  • Premium emulsion rear shocks
  • Dual disc front brakes with floating rotors
  • Blacked out 1200cc Evolution® Engine
  • Shorty-dual exhaust
  • Laser cut black heat shields
  • Lightweight offset-split 5-spoke wheels
  • Low rise handlebars
  • New gauge with digital speedo and analog tach

The new Roadster features a combination of stoplight-to-stoplight power, agility and garage-built custom style.

We're hoping to display this awesome new bike in our showrooms in Guildford, Newmarket, Norwich and Reading by Mid-June.

Should you wish to place your order to be one of the first to take delivery of the new Harley-Davidson® Sportster® RoadsterTM, prices are expected to be as follows: Vivid Black = £9,695 / Colour = £9,895 / Two-tone = £10,145

With three exciting new motorcycles added to the H-D line-up already this year and more to come at the MY17 launch at the end of August, 2016 is set to be an exciting year for all Harley-Davidson enthusiasts!
