The Harley-Davidson Sport Glide

Released in early November 2017, the Harley-Davidson Sport Glide immediately got people talking. While a new Harley is always likely to get mouths moving and gums bumping, the Sport Glide™ has quickly become very popular indeed. It’s got a classical style and look to it, taken from the much-loved Touring range, but it’s also got a more modern style in terms of performance most have found.

As part of the famous Softail® grouping under Harley-Davidson, the Sport Glide is the ninth member of the family. It’s a very impressive motorcycle, known for its high-impact performance and part of a growing line of bikes in this range. From the new Softail chassis that makes sure it can remain agile and easy to throw around, the fine blend of technological advancement and stylish detail ensures that this is a bike you should never grow tired of seeing.

A factory-custom cruiser that comes with a range of new add-ons like a detachable fairing that makes it great for touring and even just normal commuting to and from work, this does a lot of great work. It’s sleek and stylish, slipping through the streets with the absolute minimum fuss and is great for short journeys into town or long trips away for the weekend. In short, it’s a great all-rounder.

Add in the excellent performance and stability alongside the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 V-Twin engine, and you are left with a bike that has plenty of bang for its buck. Great acceleration, though, is not held back by any lack of power; you can fly by mere motors on the road without much issue, with more than enough power to belt up the lane with supreme confidence and total control.

However, the high-quality nature of the wind-deflection makes this a good bike for flying around in without leaving you feeling the brutal coldness of the air. The smart clamshell design of the panniers is another nice little touch, making sure you are left with a bike that is very easy to pack up and load or unload using just one hand. It’s a very impressive bike, with a pannier capacity of 25.5l that shows it has plenty of brawn to go with that undoubted style.

The seat is large, too, giving you a very impressive seating capacity that should allow you to feel nice and comfortable as you go. The LED lighting and the new USB charging port, too, adds a touch of modern friendliness that should really give you a greater feel and belief in the bike. Add in the fact it uses the new Harley-Davidson Smart Security System and you can feel pretty damn comfortable investing in one of these.

It’s a fine piece of kit, is the Harley-Davidson Sport Glide, and it does nothing but amplify the reputation that this range of Harley-Davidson motorcycles have held since they first roared onto the scene.
